Eyelid Surgery The eyes are considered the most expressive feature of the face. They are also known to reflect personality and mood. Unfortunately, eyes also show the first signs of aging. Cosmetic eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is the cosmetic surgery procedure performed to eliminate these defects. If your vision is compromised, blepharoplasty is considered a functional procedure. In younger individuals, blepharoplasty of the lower eyelid is done to remove fatty tissue only. In older patients, it requires excision of excess skin as well. |
